ONCE for ALL!

Jesus Christ offered Himself "ONCE" for all. Hebrews 7:27 "Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself."

In Old Testament times on the Day of Atonement two goats were used to provide the required offering to atone (covering) for the sins of the people. See Leviticus 16:7 - the two goats. The high priest, Aaron, cast lots upon the two goats, in other words, God chose the role for each goat.

One of these goats, upon which the lot fell was killed and it's blood was sprinkled upon the mercy seat to make atonement for the sins and transgressions of the people. This act was the foreshadowing of the "propitiation" (satisfaction of God's wrath against our sins) as stated in Romans 3:25. It provided the legal demands as required by the LAW in ORDER TO PAY THE NECESSARY PENALTY FOR SIN, and MAINTAIN GOD'S RIGHTEOUSNESS in this heavenly forensic (legal) transaction. See Romans 3:26 "...that HE might be JUST, and the JUSTIFIER of him which believeth on Jesus."

Then Aaron took the other goat (Leviticus 16:21) laid his hands upon it's head and confessed over it all the iniquities of the people, and then this goat (as the scapegoat) was sent into the wilderness never again to be seen ever again. The act regarding this second goat, the scapegoat , foreshadowed the removal of the sins (expiation, sin & guilt removal) from the people "as far as the east is from the west" (Psalm 103:12).

While in the Old Testament two goats were used, one for the propitiation (penalty for sins) and the other for expiation (for sin & guilt removal) on the Day of Atonement on an annual basis, when Jesus went to the cross, He went outside of the camp (outside of the city to Calvary - wilderness) and the shedding of His blood and death on the cross satisfied both acts foreshadowed by the Old Testament sacrifices . His death provided PROPITIATION and EXPIATION, satisfying both demands ONCE for all.

Hebrews 9:12 "Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us."

Believer! Read, study and meditate on this eternal truth, and the Lord will bless your inner man with the peace of God that passes all human understanding.

Glory to God for the Redemption provided by our Savior!

Hosanna!

John 12:12-13 "On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, [13] Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord."

The following week they crucified Him. They did not "know" their Messiah, they did not recognize their Messiah, they released a criminal instead, and turned Jesus over to the Roman soldiers, who executed Him.

Later Peter preached at Pentecost, saying: Acts 2:22-24 "Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: [23] Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: [24] Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it."

There will be a time in the future when Jesus will come again. He foretold of that future event. Matthew 23:37-39 "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! [38] Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. [39] For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord."

The next time when He comes, His Chosen People will recognize Him and repeat what was said a long time ago, but now they will say it with a with a regenerated heart. "BLESSED IS HE THAT COMETH IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!"

Truth ?

Pr 23:23 "Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding."

What will you pay for TRUTH? Will you SELL truth? Our LORD JESUS CHRIST placed the ultimate priority on TRUTH. He came with a SWORD to divide truth from error.

Matthew 10:34 "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. 35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. 36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. 37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. 39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it." The Bible sets doctrinal purity above all relationships. The Bible is God's Truth to man, and man is not to trifle with these eternal truths. We must not let emotions or feelings interfere with what the objective truth of the Bible says.

Back in Jesus' days, Pilate asked a rhetorical question, saying "What is Truth?" To him there was no sense of absolute truth. Similarly today, various philosophies abound regarding what truth might be.The most prevalent perspective seems to be that truth is relative. That is, truth depends on one's situtation and circumstance. None of these philosophies are based on God's truth.THe Bible says that God is the God of Truth (Psalm 31:5), And Jesus said very clearly that He is TRUTH. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Let us be men and women, boys and girls who hold the truth first and formost in our hearts. Psalm 119:30 is one of my memory verses "I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me."

There are tremendous benefits in following after God's truth. John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.  Amen and Amen!
